I dunno why, but I really hate school. I'm a freshman who has a straight A+ average. I got a perfect score on my midterms, and academics clearly isn't a problem for me. I am bored out of my mind in school. (We're learning Algebra 2, and I already know Calc)

What can I do to make it fun? I mean, I have friends, but they usually are different, for they don't have as much free time on hand as me. What could I do?

If school is so easy, challenge yourself. Ask your teacher for hard material. Aside, use the free time to study subjects of your interest so you don’t waste valuable time.

You're complaining because you have free time or that school is boring?

Also, there is a kid like that in my class. I think he lived in the Netherlands for most of his life and just moved to America this past year. He's a mathematical genius and is the smartest kid in my class without a doubt.

If youre bored in school try joining some clubs or a sports team.Even though school is almost over and its too late,theres always next year.

1) Think about what you want to study at University.

2) Talk to your schools career department and teacher that teaches that subject or whatever is closest to it.

3) Explain your situation and ask what you should do in terms extra curricular activities outside school or more advanced academic projects than your peers that would make you look amazing to universities.

Want a challenge? Go to college already, then. lol. Go take summer classes to challenge yourself. Do a sport?

Take AP Classes? Either way you still have at least 7 more years left since I assume you are going to college, even longer depending on your career interest. Find way to make it fun in high school and college. The worst thing you can have is free time. Trust me, I know first hand.

As others said, try to do more. May sound a little nerdy but ask to take higher level classes. Go to a local community college and just sit down and listen to a lecture. I was actually surprised how any random can walk into one of our lecture halls with no key or card access and just sit and listen to any subject.

When you apply to college later in life they will love the fact that you challenged yourself instead of settling.

Okay man this is what you do.

So you already know all the stuff right? Well find the real burnout kids in your school (You know the type: Don't go to classes half the time, just linger around getting high), and just get blazed.

Or do a Columbine shooting, but don't kill yourself, just get your uncle or something to drive you across state lines.

Schools not meant to be fun; that's why it's boring!

My best advice would be to find something you have a passion in. Instead on focusing on academics and lounging around branch off into some other things like art, music, sports or if you don't have an interest in that kind of stuff you should start talking to administrators on ways to challenge yourself academically such as cambridge/Ap classes alongside higher level Math, science, etc.

Also, you know calculus as a freshman? Goddamn...

not to sound like a complete smartass but i used to think like that about school, then i got a full time job and i'd love to go back to school even if only for a day.... though getting a paycheck does sorta even that out
