I've had a few criticism regarding Microsoft lately that I've wanted to voice on here, and maybe some of you feel the same way.

Over the past few years, and the last years of the 360's lifecycle, I feel as if Microsoft is instead of pushing an agenda that revolves around shelling out high-quality games, or at least even attempting to, they've completely abandoned that to instead push an all-entertainment system, at the expense of their console's gaming library.

Just look at the past few years of the 360. There weren't that many exclusives that were released, and any that were, were arguably not that good. The biggest ones released that I can think of off the top of my head were Halo 4 and Gears of War: Judgment. And that's all Microsoft seems to think anymore that the 360 needs to be in order to keep people happy, a Gears of War/Halo/Forza machine, so that they can then focus all their energy on pushing either the Kinect or their entertainment add-ons for their consoles.

And this didn't even happen just now, it seems to me to have been happening for years.

Just look at the last few E3s that Microsoft has had. They were pretty underwhelming in my book. The majority of the time focused on the Kinect, or their partnerships with other companies, or pushing TV or movie add-ons.

And the odd thing is, that their competitor, Sony, has a console that is a better entertainment machine that Microsoft's. Has anyone ever heard of anyone, who was deciding between a 360 or PS3 for reasons other than gaming (such as movies/Netflix), who went with the 360? It's a very rare occasion that that occured, because the PS3 is just simply a better machine for entertainment purposes other than gaming.

And the even funnier thing is, that Sony's consoles continue to keep being better as an all-around entertainment machine, without backtracking in their gaming department, at least in my book.

Just how many people around the internet are upset with Microsoft's unveiling of the Xbox One, and all the information that is coming out about it? Pretty much everyone. And at the same time, pretty much everyone agrees that the PS4 looks like a much, MUCH better option between the two.

Even the last few years of the PS3 looked better than the 360, at least in my book. At first yes, the 360 had a better library, but for some reason halfway through the 360's lifecycle, Microsoft instead decided to focus more on Kinect and pushing other features of their console. While at the same time, the PS3 started getting even more high-quality games being pushed, while at the same time still being a better overall-entertainment console.

And this is my problem with Microsoft anymore. They let the gaming aspect of their console suffer, and at the same time make poor decisions, in order to push other aspects of their console. When the funny thing is, that their competitor's system does the same thing that their console does, such as play movies or provide access to the internet, only it does it better, and without having to pay any fee for an online subscription.

Most of the money it seems that they actually put into producing high-quality games, just is put into Halo, Gears of War, and Forza, with any leftovers being put into timed-DLC (which doesn't really matter at all past a few months) just in order to slightly please the gaming masses.

They say that the next console is going to come out with 15 exclusives within its first year. Now, how many of those are actually going to be legitimate exclusives? My guess is, not that many. It seems like the word exclusive to them nowadays, just means exclusive for a month or two, or getting a piece of DLC slightly earlier than the competitor.

And not only their misguided direction, but then they decide to piss everyone off, by charging fees for used games, requiring an online connection for your console every 24 hours, and tying each game to a separate account, promoting fees for games used on multiple accounts.

Their terrible decision-making and design choices, lack of of a push for quality games, and overall stubbornness are reasons why I'm very disappointed in the direction that they're been taking within the past few years, and seem to be continuing to take with their next console.

So after watching this, my thoughts are this:

Meh

They didn't show anything really at all other than "Here's some ESPN stuff! Here's what it looks like, it's amazing and innovative! KINECT!"

There wasn't really any focus on games, or any incentive for me to buy this over a PS4 when they both come out. They say they have an "amazing" line-up of exclusives to be announced, but until I see them or what they are, there really isn't any incentive to buy one over a PS4 at this time, especially with the news coming out about used games.

Apparently, any game that you purchase has to be installed, and is then tied-in to a specific Xbox Live account, and if anyone else wants to play the game on their account, then they have to pay a fee before they are able to even play the game.

To start off this thread I would like to tell you my position at the business creating this game. I am simply a moderator of their forum and am trying my best to spread the word of the game to the masses that would be interested in seeing a game like this. About the game

How can you help?
The game is currently running a Kickstarter in the hope to gain enough money to develop the game that WILL be epic. If you are in other need to donate (via PayPal for example) then you can do so by going to the official Shadow of the Eternals thread.

Whats so special about it?
The game will be made based on what the community want to see, this is different from the majority of games. You will be able to help shape the development of this game!

Just the Wii U and PC?
For now, yes. However there is the option based on the donations we get to port the game over to other consoles.

Please help out, anything you can donate will help massively and you will see various rewards like getting the volumes cheaper than they would normally cost ect. Check out the rewards on the Kickstarter site.

4v4 HC CUP - this tournament will use the decerto v3 rule set with XGL Tournament adaptions to cater for the hc mode as this mode also brings in other game types such as DEM and HQ into the mix and each match of the tournament remains the best of 5 maps. although thier is a few extra adaptions such as removing the assault shield,bringing in the peacekeeper and introducing HQ and DEM it makes the mode more competitive and will suit the teams that regularly compete on the hc mode aswel as to entice competitive teams to have a crack at an hardcore tournament. This tournament has a group stage with 4 groups of 4 teams with the top 2 teams of each group progressing to the knockout brackets. The group stages are hosted on the friday along with the Quarter Final stage of the knockout. then the remainder of the knockouts are hosted on a monday to complete the cup.

I'm probably the only person who still plays Borderlands 2 on this site but still...

Is anyone excited to play as this guy? His skill tree looks amazing almost overpowered, there's some early lvl61 gameplay of Krieg floating around that shows his mania skill tree where he can do insane amount of melee damage if enough points are invested in it, combine that with his combat skill (buzz axe rampage) and he'll be unstoppable even more so if you can get the zero capacity shield. The Bloodlust skill tree does a similar thing but for guns and the Hellborn skill tree just looks plain fun. I'm gonna download him when the PS Store updates later today if anyone wants to jump on with me.
