Everyone was asking for a playlist in BO with no ghost or second chance. They got it and noone played it.
This is different, it is ranked. There will be an air of prestige from being highly ranked in this playlist. There was none for the black ops playlist. You are seriously underestimated the human ego if you think this isn't going to be highly populated. This is basically clan ops, but actually competitive. You really don't think all the cocky clans won't be out there trying to be ranked in the top 2%. Just to brag about it. I'm sure that is the main reason most people will play it. To say there are better than you, and it will hold ground.
As much as I'd like to agree with this point, I've seen far more people saying "I don't want to try all the time" Which you could respond to with "go play non ranked when You just want to stomp"
If the typical actions of highly ranked players/high stat players in this game and previous CODs that play list will be as successful as the community makes it. If the majority of the top ranked players abuse whatever the strongest class is/or "cheap" tactic this game happens to have it will drive a lot of players out.
I imagine very few good parties being anything more then head glitchers. This community finds a way to ruin any good idea. That's what I'm more concerned about.
I can understand someone having an issue against playing a team that camps really hard but having an issue with someone using cover... At the end of the day, there aren't any rules in cod about how one is allowed to win.
Get that way of thinking out of your system now, you won't go far into the ranks if you aren't willing to do anything to win.
Put it this way, you are playing tdm against a team as good as you. You are up by 2 kills and there are 20 seconds left on the clock. What do you do, camp, headglitch, prefire? or rush around to honor some self appointed code. The answer is obvious to anyone who wants to win. If two teams are of equal skill, tactics are what win games. camp, rush, headlitch, its all situational.
I think you are taking the wrong point of view for this and giving people some slack.
I have no issue taking cover,I do it myself. My point is these top players, even now when "rank" means nothing and is only a number I've seen some top guys literally "sit behind cover" for an entire match because they are too scared to ruin their stats whether it be W/L K/D. Now with W/L probably meaning more then it ever it's going to be even worst.
I know how this community works. The only time top top players rush around and is when they see the other team they are playing is no where near their skill level.
MLG games I've watched (from this COD and previous CODs) even those guys, where the only number that mattered was winning. wouldn't "sit back" and just let the team come to them they move around the map and make call outs....but they are pro players.
TDM isn't an excuse to all of sudden play the waiting game and everyone post up in a building or window and see who can cover lines of sights the best. That will be the most boring matches ever.
I've seen more "good clans" in this COD community back out just because 1-2 people started doing well against them. If they didn't back out they resorted to hiding in buildings.
I'm predicting as good of an idea as this will be. It will be as successful as these players make it. No one,who cares about this game and likes to do well is going to enjoy coming against people who refuse to move.
Groups of kids will get a solid ranking and then just sit on it. There is no code on how to play you are correct, but there is a very easy way to win games if your even remotely competent.
