If you could have any company develop Black Ops 2 9 months, 2 weeks ago #729697

As the title says, if you could pick any company to develop black ops 2, or if you want to keep Activision, or if you would like Treyarch to develop it if Treyarch was without Activision, which one would you pick?
Just made this thread for fun of it.
Personally, I really think Treyarch would make amazing games if they were an independent company, and maybe bring over some of the people from Blizzard who spend almost all of their time creating and fixing balance issues in their games.

Valve would be interesting, but we would never see Black Ops 3.

I'm fine with Treyarch developing it. They are my preferred CoD developer. I don't have enough experience with other developers to say I prefer them. I'm sure Bungie wouldn't be a bad choice, or DICE, or even Respawn Entertainment. I'll just go with what I know works.

I know this is going to be coming from left field, but I'd go with Insomniac.

The sole reason being that Resistance 2 was my first FPS shooter ever and it is still my favorite. Granted, it might be my favorite BECAUSE it was my first, but eh.

The problem with Bungie is well, for one, I'm not sure they're even into FPS anymore after Reach. And two they seem to develop games that are more futuristic, with shields and different abilities that don't fit the COD criteria.
DICE makes some good games, but they wouldn't be able to develop classes or perks, since I feel like most of their time is spent on developing 4 pre-set classes and weapons, while adding in vehicles and crazy explosions.

Yeah I also think independently Treyarch would make an awesome game. I love David Vonderhaar and the way he interacts with the community. He listens and actually plays the game so he knows whats wrong with the game and actually makes an effort to fix things that are broken.

They could easily take over the CoD development, they would just have to drop MoH, which is already similar to cod, has a newer engine, and has dedicated servers.

Bungie. Treyarch is getting redundant with cods. I'd like to see Bungie take a whack at cod for once. Plus so far black ops 2 looks stupid imo.

Because the leads there were a major reason cod is so popular. They obviously have experience with the series.

DRM?



Digital Rights Management. It basically limits installs to accounts or certain numbers of installs.

Spore, for example, only allowed 3 installs per disk. This led to it being the most pirated game of all time.


You see it in games like Battlefield 3 where your ability to play the game is tied to your account. Same thing with Starcraft.

Ubi, EA and Blizzard are pretty renowned for it.
