He doesn't say where he got his information from which is disappointing but apparently a quote from someone at activision says to get online you will also be part of elite. However, he doesn't make it clear whether its just the free version or you have to pay for elite premium to get online (although that's what GUNNS seems to think).

If you need elite to play multiplayer I predict they will collapse under there own greed and the series will die.

Edit: I watched the video now. Nowhere throughout the video did it sound like he thought the payed version of Elite was required to play multi-player.

Sounds like a misunderstanding of "If you play online, you're part of elite" which is how it works at the moment anyway.

I remember my older brother telling me he could see information on my CoD matches/stats on his Elite account when I don't even have one.

I think you making an Elite account simply gives you access to your information, but as soon as you start playing Elite is already tracking your stats and you're on their database. Anyone can search your PSN/XBL and look at your stats.

That's how I think it is.

That statement has nothing to do with premium, gunns also said nothing about premium. All he/they are saying is you have to sign up for elite. They are making it quite clear that they are talking about the free version of elite not the premium. BF3 forced origin down people's throat. Valve makes you get steam for its games. There is no problem with making people sign up to elite to play online, it won't cost them a dime the only thing it will cost them is about 3 minutes of their time.
