Hello! Some of you may know me and I've been wanting to pick up a gaming headset. So far I've found three headsets that are in price range; Turtle Beach DPX21...Turtle Beach DX11... and Tritton Ax 720. I am on a Xbox and I want something that will last. My grandma is buying this and I don't want her to pay too much because I am old enough to know that the economy is at a very bad state. Money is important for food and other important necessities.

I need something that's:

1.) Will last for more than one year(I keep good care of these types of things).

2.) Does it's job for the money.

3.) Is comfortable enough to wear for long periods.

I am 12 so I'm not an MLG hardcore player than needs top of the line "equipment". I just need something that will do it's job and lasts.

Oh and please don't list any other headsets like Astro, Ax Pros, etc... These are the only ones in my grandma's price range. THANKS!

Out of those, I'd go with the Trittons.

Had turtle beaches, broke under a year. Got trittons, so much better. 720's are perfect for pub stars and gb's. Ears get a little hot but that's every headset. Feel very light on your head and nice and comfy

I had the Trittons before upgrading and the sound quality was great. Very good stereo headset.

Agreeing with the Trittons. They'll last longer because TBs break easier. The sound quality of the Trittons is good as well.

I've had the same pair or Turtle Beaches for 2 years. No problems. They are probably the cheapest of those headsets you listed. Anyone that says they break probably doesn't take good care of them. Also, they are very good for sound whoring contrary to popular belief.

Ok and some people say the optical cable that comes with it is bad. All the wires and out of harms and feet's way. IS the sound from it bad?

The wire people complain about the most with the Trittons is the chat cable, they don't come with/use an optical cable.

The mic is fine for talking.

Another headset in your price range is the steel series. its says ps3 in the link but on the site it says its compatible with xbox as well.

no please dont get the trittons, px21s are fine for a beginner headset if youre on xbox x11's will prob be ok (havnt used em) but px21> 720's pros, if you have a bit more id recommend hpx1

I'd pick Tritton 720's over low end Turtle Beach anytime. The 720's will give you simulated surround sound and be pretty close in sound to the Astro A40's. I have a Tritton Ax Pro headset, and if they're built anything like them, then they are a lot sturdier than lower end Turtle Beach headsets (I've used x11's, x31's, and have owned higher end x41's).

Also, HPX-1 can't be used without an Astro Mixamp (this is the setup that I currently use). For a cheaper HPX setup, you can use the HPX headset with the HPX-2 cables (Headset stays the same, the difference between 1 and 2 is the connection cable) and the SteelSeries LiveMix, but I can't comment on the sound of them.
