**Please don't post Fraps. It's alright, but it lags a little bit too much for me, and I can't stand how it caps my fps to 30 - 60.**

So recently, WeGame has stopped working, and now I am trying to find a different recorded.

Things I'm looking for:
Little-to-no lag
Decent quality (1280x720 / looks pretty good if stretched to 1280x720)

Thanks for reading.

Don't a lot of big youtube guys use Sony Vegas? Or if that's not what you're looking for, completely disregard my post.

Sony vegas is to edit videos and render them out so it's different. He plays PC games and he's looking for a program to record what he plays.

To the OP, what happen to wegame that made it stop working?

I'm not sure why WeGame isn't working, but I have the newest version of WeGame, and when I log in, then when it starts loading the news thing, it crashes before it loads.

I have full fraps, and it lags no matter what fps I set it to.. And I record @ half-size.

Modern Warfare 2

Never heard of it, could you go into a little more detail?
Unless you're referring to recording a demo, then recording over it later..

Modern Warfare 2 has no developer console, so I can't record demos.

If you have a good PC with a multiple core processor (best to have 4 cores), you can use PlayClaw: www.playclaw.com

It's optimized for use on Windows 7 and its multiple core features, thus it causes nearly zero performance hit. I haven't used it myself, because I used it a long time ago when it was just another Fraps and my trail ran out, but my CPU is crap so I probably wouldn't get the zero performance hit.

EDIT: Also if you have a graphics card with an HDMI out port, you can get a internal SPDIF cord to connect the motherboards sound-out to your graphics card and you can use a BlackMagic Intensity Pro and record without any lag, as the processing and encoding is done on on the card. Might need two big RAID 0 hard drive for that though.

Consoles run MW2 at a cap of 60FPS.

My PC averages 100-120FPS in MW2. Screen capping vastly reduces the FPS.

Check out VH Capture. It works really well and there is very little to no lag

right click desktop > properties > Settings > advance settings > troubleshoot > drag that little meter from full to none. that should take care of the fraps lag, because like it or not, it is the best software for pc recording.

If you don't wanna bother with fraps, you can use Xfire. Otherwise all the other screen recorders are pretty meh.

Re: Best PC Game Recording Software? 2 years, 2 months ago #393361

Try Bandicam recorder.
It has much less lag than Fraps/WeGame.
Bandicam can record video at resolutions up to 2560*1600 in high quality

In addition, you can record and upload the recorded file to YouTube without converting because the recorded file is much smaller than Fraps (1/20).

Fraps at half-size because Youtube has a silly compression method that fucks up the quality anyway.
Karma please :]

All you have to do is set the frame rate to "unlocked" and it will record at whatever you want it to as long as your cpu can keep up.

you should be able to stay at 125fps for strafing [i'm assuming that's what you want it for] and record if you lower some settings or if your cpu is good enough
