Because this week they are both half price (along with the Black Ops ones) on PS3. I'm very tempted to get them so I'd like some thoughts on them. If everyone says they're shit, I'll get the two Black Ops map packs that I missed (the classic zombies one and escalation). Thanks.

If you really still play Black Ops and like zombies then get those. 7,50 for each map pack right? Sounds like a fair price to me. Didn't hear anything good about the MW3 DLC maps.

Escalation is the one with Zoo, Stockpile, Hotel, Convoy and Call of the Dead right?

Well Zoo and Stockpile are okay maps. Hotel and Convoy ... not bad, but definately not good either.

Call of the Dead is pretty refreshing compared to the other zombie maps. Doesn't offer really something new only because George Romero is hunting you 24/7, but it adds a new feature and new characters ( which are shit BTW except for Trejo ).

Yeah, my uncle has all of the black ops ones, so I get to play them every now and then. I agree with you on the maps. Zoo and Stockpile are great, Hotel is good if you get in the right lobby, I don't like Convoy. Call of the Dead is good too, not the best zombie map but everytime I play it I do enjoy myself. I might get it, I'll wait and see what other people think of the MW3 ones first though.

I've been looking for an excuse to get the classic maps for a while now, though I do hate moon, hmm.

For £5 odd I might at least get the zombie one. Thanks for you input

I find Call of the Dead to be very enjoyable. Once you get the right strategy down, it can be really fun with 4 players. Most of the normal maps are just meh. I think Convoy is terrible, but the others are playable.

For MW3, I only have the second map pack with the Face-off maps. For the Faceoff ones, I like Getaway and I hate Lookout. It's all the spawns really. They are good on Getaway and they suck on Lookout. I can't really give an opinion on the multiplayer maps. Whenever I enable DLC, the game can't find any games to put me in. Instead of saying, "searching 10/50 available games" it says, "searching 1/1 available games". Then it won't even put me in that one game and the ping just keeps going up, to the point where I'm playing on a straight up 2-bar all night. From my limited experience, Foundation plays well for Domination, Oasis does not (terrible spawns), and Sanctuary is somewhere in the middle.

Does anyone else have the problem I mentioned with the new maps?

I do really like the DLC faceoff maps and they seem like worth buying, if you like faceoff that is
``No! I can still do this...I can still do this! One last kill... To bring pride to my district.``

My name is Daniel and I am the best Yu-Gi-Oh! player on Hupit... Probably

Don`t add me - My PS3 is broken!

Hmm, I'm not really a fan of faceoff. Its just ruined by people quitting out when they get killed. How are the actual multiplayer maps?

I didn't like Hotel because you couldn't use the chopper gunenr effectively. The spanws are always safe building sides so they will never have to run out to really get you. Also a lot of camping in the upper floors with the elevator. Sure it's nothing compared to Downturn or Bakaara.

If you HAVE to buy it, and you can get the lobbies, get BO map packs. MW3 map packs, tbh, aren't that much different than the main maps. Small, bad lines of sights, bad spawns, and generally an annoying and unpredictable map. Except for the face-off ones, those are pretty good.

Any other opinions on them? Or should I just get the Black Ops ones I missed?

Just get the Black Ops' map packs, because the MW3 map packs are horrible. I can't imagine how horrible it is on the PS3. So save your money and buy the Black Ops maps instead.

No one plays them and when they do its just a big campfest.
Get the classic zombie ones, people still play them
Feel free to add me on PSN or League of Legends!

i like the new MW3 maps. piazza is probably one of my all time favs. liberation is probably the worst with snipers, but i have found a few routes and lines of sight that makes it fun, definately a slower paced map compared to piazza. oasis is really fun i think. foundation is fun running around their spawns gets really hectic. sanctuary can be fun as long as you stay out of middle hallways. overwatch i always have loads of fun on.

i dont know why there is so much pessimism about the DLC, jaded people i guess.

black ops is really kind of dead lately, not a lot of people on it at least when i play.

If you still haven't decided yet, I was wondering the same thing and picked them up 2 days ago. They definitely add some nice variety to the game if you play a lot. That being said, having just picked the packs up, any map needs to be learned well to do well. I find I don't do as well when a new map comes up in a gameplay rotation.

If you don't mind spending some time to get familiar with them, its overall worth getting if you know the classic maps very well.

I honestly don't like any of the new maps, I feel that Liberation is too god damn big, Piazza is crazy arse hard to kill people cause so many corner campers, Overwatch i get spawn killed 20 times a game and I honestly prefer to play Downturn to any of the collection 1 maps, havent got collection 2.

In the first collection, you are definitely right about them being large. They are not much larger than the original maps though, they are just more open, which leads to different game play. I find that when there aren't enough people on one of those maps, you find more of the camping since action is scarcer.

The second collection maps are the opposite, smaller maps similar in size to hardhat or dome. I find I enjoy these maps a lot more (although I am still new to both packs). This includes two additional Face Off maps (making four total), which I haven't played yet.

A "feature" I like that you can find in both packs is open areas that are very cluttered (with cover). This makes a task such as taking out a sniper, much more fun than simply trying to sneak up behind them. Most of the maps from both also contain a decent balance of areas that are better for either close or long range.

The spawning is a problem however is a big problem that I hope they fix soon. Although it is in all game types, it is horrendously worse in FFA game types. People who camp spawns currently have a field day with this, controlling spawn points. But it is still manageable in team games (assuming your team is working together to some degree).

Personally I wouldn't buy them. Although I haven't bought any map packs for MW3 because of 3 reasons:

1. I rarely see any of the new maps on YouTube.

2. I heard that the maps don't show up that often.

3. I'm not putting anymore money on a game that is broken.

I'd rather get the Black Ops map packs because I had more fun in Black Ops than MW2 and MW3 combined.

Good decision there. I bought the MW3 collection 1 for pc when it came out and could barely ever play any of the maps because the matchmaking could almost not find any matches. It is a little better now, but still, if I want to play fast, I have to deactivate the mappacks.
