ON black ops I was #1 HC tdm, #2 dom, #2 reg tdm #8 ffa, #19 demo and #2 sabo. So yeah... black ops was sort of easier...
I'm not going to say whether black is easier or not, just that you can't say one was easier or not based on the leader boards. Considering they are put together differently. Black ops was score per minute. MW3 is just play time, of course if two people both have 5 hours played its different. However, it's mainly play time, the number one guy on any mw3 leader board is going to have more hours played in that gamemode that other people.
Astute makes a valid point.
For the most part the leaderboards are based on playtime in MW3.
Usually(when I use to play) I'd look at the leaderboard for the game mode we were in,if someone had a higher score then me I would then check their overall score ranking(mostly for their play time)
Now I do NOT by any means consider myself a super strong player (strong maybe) but I'll let others determine how "good" I am. (Insert Kid's comment about GB FTW)
I believe the last time I checked(played) I had around 16-18days played so I'd really only look for people around the same time played as me.
Now when I do that I've seen far more people that have had me crushed in time played and had nearly 4-5 million less points then I did. Occasionally I'd find someone with the same time or less that had more points then me.
Personally I don't think we really know what the "average" amount of points is based one what ever gametime someone has (We know the XP per Rank)
But take me for example. I'm 10th/80 haven't prestiged, but I still have yet to figure out whether challenge XP goes into your overall score on the leaderboard or just your personal "XP Earned"
Even in individual game mode leaderboards do XP numbers go into the overall score of that leaderboard?
The point is. If XP rewards go into your overall score/overall score of each game mode then people who are still prestiging have a far greater chance to gain points into that score then those of who aren't prestiging.
I've got a lot of weapon challenges completed, kill streak challenges, perk challenges etc etc so I may not get nearly as many points as someone who is prestiging.
Everyone with more time played on my friends list is also ranked higher. Do I dare say if I had as much game time as them I'd be ranked just as high, yes I do because I was well ahead of them with less time played for the first 3- 3 and half months of the game and completely cut down my time to essentially 0.
SPM on the other hand really in my opinion just "showed" how the player played(more so then any other stat"
Most of the time a high SPM in TDM meant you rushed around,or got kill streaks constantly and they racked up kills.(I had a buddy who had a nearly 450SPM in TDM but played a lot slower then the rest of our party but would get a CG and Dogs nearly every match with very little movement just because of spawn flips.
High SPM in DOM meant lots of objective play/and kill streaks in my opinion.
Usually low SPM meant the complete opposite. Lack of objective/rushing/kill streaks being earned.
