This is not a discussion on which perk is better. To solve this conundrum, I've stacked the 2 perks by using Specialist.

The problem is however, that when I have both perks running at the same time during my Specialist streak, I can still hear my own footsteps. Why is this? If that's the case, there's no point of using both perks at the same time.

P.S. I know for a fact that they're my own footsteps and not a teammates. I tested it out in SND, and ran around in remote areas where there were no players.

I think there is a glitch where you can hear your own footsteps if you put sitrep before dead silence or dead silence before sitrep. Not sure which one it is, but I know that such a glitch exists.

I tried both setups and I heard my footsteps both ways! Ahhhh this is so frustrating!

When I start with Sitrep and earn Dead Silence, I can still hear my footsteps....but I know Dead Silence is working because I tested jumping off a ledge and received no fall damage.

Then I tried starting with DS and earning SR....started off good not hearing my footsteps, but then the next round after earning SR, I noticed I could hear my footsteps again!

Dead Silence, if I hear my own footsteps I can hardly distinguish my enemies

It's a glitch, probably an unintended effect of the major buff they gave Sitrep Pro. I think I remember reading on callofduty.com that they intend to fix it soon, but idfk what's taking them so long

Why does everyone hate hearing their own footsteps? It honestly doesn't bother me...

Re: Dead Silence Pro vs. Sitrep Pro 1 year ago #706231

Funny, if I earn dead silence while just running sitrep it makes my footsteps completely silent. Without dead silence in my specialist setup I can barely hear myself at all. If I have neither it drives me a bit crazy though.

I think its because often people keep questioning whether or not that sound coming from somewhere is themselves or an enemy that is also moving, so they panic and unnecessarly stop and check etc, Dead silence gives the confidence of knowing that sound definatley wasn't you.

You're not the only one. I'm on ps3 and it has been happening since the day of the patch. I used to unlock SitRep in my Specialist for SnD, but I don't now. I can't stand hearing my own footsteps.

They thought that Sitrep Pro would be too OP so they nerfed it.

Re: Dead Silence Pro vs. Sitrep Pro 1 year ago #707120

I'm on xbox and I hear my own footsteps with both perks, so its not just a ps3 thing. If they changed it then sitrep pro will be the most op perk ever IMO

And with the way it was before, Dead Silence was the most OP perk in the game. I'm for the removal of all sound-oriented perks, but I'm under the impression that I am alone there. Until then, I will happily use Sitrep to counter the formerly uncounterable(I made a new word there)

I can tell which footsteps are mine and which are the enemies and I hardly use a headset, so why can't you 'soundwhores' tell the difference?
