TOPIC: How good were you when you first started playing cod?

Re: How good were you when you first started playing cod? 1 year, 2 months ago #667385

Hahaha, I'm still pretty bad, but I mean, I've been playing for like, 8 months now, played MW2 to begin with. When I started, I just really had no idea what the fuck was going on, and I was playing splitscreen multi with my friends on an xbox. Then I switched to PC.XD Fucking tough transition for the longest time, then I started going positive but I'm still learning this shit. But I was sooooo bad when I started, it was ridiculous.XD I couldn't use the UMP well in MW2.XD

When I played mw2 I had a one bar each time and my ld4 was like .3 or .4
Then Black ops i only played for kills my kdr at start was .76 then 3/4 of the way was 1.14
Made new account and finished with a 2.80 kdr.
Mw3 kdr is 2.51 but i really couldn't care less about it.

MW2 was my first CoD. I actually knew about the Youtube community before I knew about Call of Duty. That's what prompted me to upgrade to a 360 from a PS2.

When I first started playing, I had maybe a .7 KD? It wasn't abominably bad like some new players' KDRs.

At the end of MW2, I was maybe a 1.5 KD player, but I screwed around too much to get an accurate KDR measurement. Add that to not knowing what I was doing for the first 5 months, and my final KDR was like .87.

Play quite a lot of COD4 but was too stupid to recognise overpowered guns, Plus I thought guns were better in the order you unlocked them, hence I thought the MP44 on cod4 must be really good, until I got it...

Despite this I normally had a 1k/d around that time and now it averages 1.75-2.00

My name is Daniel and I am the best Yu-Gi-Oh! player on Hupit... Probably

Don`t add me - My PS3 is broken!

i think the only reason i was a good kd player as soon as i started playing cod, is because i used to play my brothers cod4 a bit on the wii, then i played some bad company 2 and halo before i got my own ps3 and a cod game. black ops was the first cod i owned and finished with a 2.88 kd without making a new profile but at the start though i camped a lot with ghost, ak47u rapid fire and motion sensor etc.

My first online game was CoD4 and I was horrible...I remember not knowing that you could look down the sight, I was just running round hip-firing with AR's.

I first started playing CoD on console in MW2, towards the end of February, before that I was an MGO player. Played dreadfully in the beginning. I was the guy you sometimes see that doesn't look like he understands the controls. Sprinting and ADS were relatively new to me, coming from an FPS background consisting of Goldeneye and Timesplitters. I remember one game in particular, TDM on Favela, I got lost. The only point on the map I knew was the broken 2-storey by A, but I couldn't for the life of me find my way to it. I kept circling the 2 centre buildings, but not realising I was going into the same buildings over and over again. I somehow maintained a 0.6 K/D in my very early days. It wasn't until maybe 6 days played I broke even *achievement unlocked*. I was uncomfortable with moving and aiming in general, but by that time I had a good grasp of the maps and the general formula for success.

At one point in time I made a very sudden leap from a 1.0 K/D to a 1.4 K/D. I started earning UAVs frequently, a couple of Predators a game and even a Harrier every now and then. This was after watching Woody's first control the engagement video. The concept of using cover had completely passed by me. I was trying to play the game like I played Timesplitters, which involved patrolling the centre of the map and dominating everyone with high accuracy, no cover involved. I started watching YT videos for basic tips and my K/D shot up in no time. By the end of MW2 I was regularly pulling 15+ in SnD, 40+ in TDMs and getting Nukes pretty regularly in TDM.

tl;dr I was absolutely terrible, watched a Woodysgamertag video, became great.

Very terrible. I would camp my ass off, claymore behind me and ADS not far from my spawn.

You were an exceptional team-mate for MW2 SnD.

Isn't that what SnD is, sitting in your spawn with a claymore?

I remember being 11 years old playing CoD 2 and getting fucking anhialated, ah the good old days when I didn't even know there was such a thing as kd/r and would run around like a schizophrenic clown, now when I game online I swear I could be medically diagnosed as bi-polar I take it that serious... I think I need to re-consider some of my life choices.

Re: How good were you when you first started playing cod? 1 year, 2 months ago #667986

I started with Black Ops wii (yes, wii, back when I wasn't a somewhat hardcore gamer like I am now) and had a .70 KD in the first couple months, when MW3 came out I had a 1.7 kd. I got an Xbox for Christmas 2011 (well not quite Christmas, more like early December) and had around a 1 KD in MW3. Now, Black Ops- almost a 2 KD-1 W/l (just started playing with a party). MW3- 1.3 KD-1 W/l (same reason, but TBH, I dont really care about MW3 stats) MW2- 1.4 KD (I think)- not sure about W/l. So I wasnt too good, and I'm still not very good

I watched Call of Duty since COD4, but I didn't start playing properly until MW2. I was never super bad at the game, but I guess I spent a few weeks in the pattern of sucky negative games, until my games started to improve when I picked up on the spawn patterns, playing with friends who would help me out and choosing the right weapon for a certain map. It didn't help that I had a terrible Internet connection .. I think Internet connection is one of the most important things, and it can affect your ratio. My MW2 actual ratio was 1.20 before the game got hacked to death. Black Ops - 1.79 .. MW3 - 2.38 and COD4 is somewhere in the 2.00+ area.

First CoD game I ever played was Black Ops and I remember my first game very well... I went 5-43.
Wrapped in the guise of man shall you walk amongst the innocent, and terror shall consume they that dwell upon the earth. The sky shall rain fire, and the seas will become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked. And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell.

Started MW2 (my first cod) with about a .6 KD which improved to a 1.2 by the end of MW2s era. Then in BO I had a 2.3kd and now in MW3 Im at 3.35

Re: How good were you when you first started playing cod? 1 year, 2 months ago #668885

First single player was in COD 3 (on the PS2) at the age of 11. I was so shitty at it- I played at the lowest difficulty and when around meleeing people (because I had shit aim), and thought I was a boss.

Next year, MW2 was released, and I bought it. I think my k/d must have been .7. By this time, I could at least aim, but I sucked until halfway through the game's life cycle. Then, I began to get nukes pretty much every game.

I barely played Black Ops, so when MW3 was released, I was out of practice, and thus, I sucked as bad as when I first started MW2. But now I think I'm a lot better than I used to be. As they say, practice makes perfect.

Started with Black Ops, I currently have a .91 k/d and .58 w/l. Granted I now go positive almost every game, but its hard to get your k/d up once you've gotten yourself into that hole. I figured that once MW3 came out I would be waaaaay better, butt he game is totally different than BO, my k/d is just a 1.02. I know that when Black Ops 2 comes out I'll have at least a 1.5 as that is how I usually do in BO now that I know how to play it.
