You can't really decide with the variables you've placed. If you tell me he has a 3 W/L playing solo, then yes. But he might be playing with 5 other beats regularly, and to be honest, when you have a truly good team against non-groups, the wins come alone. You don't even have to put yourself into a winning mindset, too many factors to decide.

I like the stat of "Are you enjoying the game or not?". Too bad my stat in this category is .000000000001 at this point.

I'll take the guy who scores 2500 points in dom and posts anything over a .8 kd. That guy is capping, defending, shooting shit down and killing. That will do me!

Lets face it when someone looks at your stats the first thing "most" people look at is your k/d (in MW3 its not as easy to see friends stats as in black ops) but honestly off the top of my head I would say w/l is best for many reasons but even then its not 100% for it shows matches when you join a match late and its already over thats a loss or when the host will d/b that will be a loss for you too. this makes your w/l not very accurate , though a k/d can be looked at many different ways to tell a type of player you can have a person with a really high k/d that only plays free for all or TDM then a person with maybe just a 1.50 or so who plays nothing but demolition of dom and play the OBJ to win.
so IMO I do not think any stats are relevant for the most part. Some people even share there accounts.

Win/loss is always the most important.

If you go for k/d and camp, the average player should have a 4 k/d in team deathmatch, kill confirmed, etc, and a 5 k/d in domination, demolition, etc. If you have less than this you are a terrible camper who also loses a lot. Basically you are nothing.

neither stat is imoprtant to begin with, they are both pub stats. pub stats are meaningless.

keep in mind hat most if not all pub stats are attained from playing against bad players. whether or not they are better than you or you are better than them, if you are playing pubs vs anyone ;more than likely they aren't any good at cod really. so, if anyone has so much trouble playing vs bad players that they get a negative k/d for most games, they are bad . having a positive w/l, even if its just a 1 it means that you contribute enough to the game to get a win for every loss. if i had to choose i would take a guy who is decent enough to at least go even vs bad kids and can ontibute enough to a win.

both k/d and w/l are easily manipulated by anyone with any brains so your pubs stats mean nothin as long as they are 1 or above. if any of your stats are negative and all you play is pubs, YOU ARE BAD. no ifs no buts. if it makes your delusional baby nuts feel better, ill say you aren't very proficient at call of duty

playing with or against someone on the regular is the only true way to gauge their skill. pub stats really cant tell you that much about a player. the best player on my FL has a .75 k/d and an even worse w/l because all he does when he plays pubs is ninja defuse in search. he is however a monster of a player, he is ranked 33rd on gb and hasn't lost a single gb match for months now.

pub stats i believe do mean something in GB because most of the time in GB you are playing very good PUB players and not the guys from team Envyus but in not in actual MlG like if you are entering tourneys. I know this is true cause optic nadeshot has like a 0.8WL and a 1.4KD and i dont think anyone can doubt him as being one of the best competitive players in the world.

I would take neither.
I like players who can at least break even in both attributes in pubs.
Even using a shotgun should render you at least a 1.0 k/d if you are a decent player at the game that just enjoys playing.
People can have a .3 k/d and 7 w/l and still be bad just rolling with a bunch of pub stompers or a 3 k/d and .3 w/l dashboarding your heart out.

The K/D guy is probably better. But I would rather the W/L guy as he would hop on a flag when needed. Also, Nobody brags about W/L. If there is one thing I hate its someone with a 2.5+ K/D only using assault rifles saying how they are better than me when all I run is Shotguns and SMGs now. I can think of someone on this post that fit that description trolol. Imagine if he was on my team

A person's overall skill would be hard to measure. The only way to know if someone is good is actually play with them. The player's KD might be high, but that could mean that he isn't sticking to the objective. However, your WL ratio might suffer from your teamates not playing the objective. Although it is nice to have good stats, the only thing that would indicate a players performance is a first hand account.

For casual gamers, or youtubers, k/d is probably most important. For gamebattles players and other competitive Gamers W/L is probably a better judge of how well they'll do in that kind of environment.

In pubs, I don't believe either matter. But a few would disagree saying WL doesn't matter and KD doesn't matter.

Both can be skewed indicators of a players skill because K/D can be elevated from running in a party and high win loss obviously means you always run in a party so that dorsnt directly show how good one guy from that team is. So that said K/D would have to be the best indicator of personal skill. Regardless of how they get the high K/D unless its a hacker they obviously are pretty good.

Its all about KDR, if you have a good kd that means you will usually win most of your games. in my case i have a 2.68 kd and my win/loss is still 1.81 and almost everygame i play solo. Having a good kd means your getting air support and your helping your team out by clearing space for them to capture the flags. As mentioned before anyone can run around and try to cap falgs, and people with high win loss are usually in parties most of the time. So If you have a high kd you're basically helping your team out, in the long run to win you need both smart players with high kd to get kills and keep the enemy spawn trapped, and you also need tryhards to cap flags.

There's way too many factors going into what makes a player skillful, like playing in parties most of the time, and only caring about K/D.

What makes a player skillful in my eyes:
Playing the objective while beasting. If you sit back the whole game and let players come to you.. meh. I mean, that is smart, but idk. It's COD. People can play however they like, play with the 1887, and have a negative K/D. Force them to tryhard, and they pull 3+K/D's every game. K/D is inaccurate.

Overall, winning is the most important thing.
