since the chat room is generally dead and im assuming its because no one wants to leave the forums/ sharing gamertages etc. i was wondering if it could be moved to the bottom/ side of the page on the forum.

eg the bottom of the recent topics before the statistics/ whos online or maybe on one side

This is an excellent idea. Chat used to be such fun..

This was suggested a while back to have a type of 'shoutout box' at the top of the forums.
I can't remember the full reason(s) for it being rejected but i think it might have had something to do with cost issues and the software/layout, not 100% sure though.

Personally i don't see anything wrong with the current chat it just doesn't get used.

Everyone Moaned because the IRC was too "Clique" and hard to get into so we switched back to Blast Chat, barely got used.

I was thinking of removing the current Blast Chat and moving to a shoutbox.. because I think people would use it for simple comments, but not "chatting"... skype is probably going to continue to lead in that field

the shoutbox could get bombarded with let's play reqeusts

Then us supporters can start spamming our channels.

The skype chats exist still but they aren't as big as chat used to be. A lot of the chat 'regulars' broke up into smaller cliques but still keep in touch one way or another. Fyi there were skype chats from way before the chat even existed. Ever since the early days of hupit.
