Quick scoping is not cheap. It takes quite a bit of skill... I can attest to this because I still suck at it. However, I do love playing black ops and not having more snipers on a team than assault/smg.

There's an easy test to see if a gun is better than other guns - do you see it in competitive matches (close competitive matches)? If not, it's not overpowered.

It's not cheap because it's over powered, it's cheap because when you do get quick scoped, you get killed when you shouldn't have. If you run into a person and you have an assault rifle that needs 3 to 4 hits and has recoil and they have a gun that can lock on and kill in one hit, it's bullshit.

I wish Treyarch made maps that you could snipe the way sniping is meant to be instead of giving into the quick scope BS.

Sure, quick scoping can be fun for people, but it's not for me. I want a sniper rifle, not a laser assault rifle that kills in one hit.

No, I don't expect the game to be super realistic. Yes, I do expect weapons with the title "sniper" to act as "sniping" weapons.

If you died from a sniper, odds are he would have killed you with any gun. Sniping is no easier than using a full auto gun and in most cases it's harder. You might complain about it being a one hit kill. To that I say it... First off, it's not always a one hit kill. Secondly, not only is it a one shot kill but you need to HIT that shot. It's not as if it's an assault rifle and you can fire 30 rounds in 10 seconds and get a one hit kill. Most of the time you get one chance to kill some one, with that one shot. That's why being accurate is more important when sniping, because typically you only get that one shot.

If you want to know which guns are overpowered, it's quite simple. Look in GB matches. Do you see people snipe frequently? No, never. Do you see people using FAMAS and AK-74u (Black Ops) or UMP and ACR (MW2)? Yes, you do. Why? Because typically they will outplay a sniper because they're more reliable and relatively better at most engagements.

As to "auto aim," like Patho G said... Nothing truly locks on. What you're talking about is aim assist, and it effects all guns not just snipers. It probably has a bigger effect on scope-less guns as well, because you don't go through that helpless phase when the scope is blocking your view.

As I said, quite simple.

Quickscoping isn't cheap but it does involve a lot of luck.

^ No scopes are fairly inconsistent. There may be codes written to dictate your no scope spots, but they're also meant to be sporadic and random which is the whole point of the crosshairs.

Unless you're telling me you can hit no scopes just as often as anything else?

... I define luck in CoD as taking a chance when the odds are against you and winning, as I've said before.

Dictionary.com defines luck as: good fortune; advantage or success, considered as the result of chance.

Seems to me that hitting a no scope is indeed lucky.

(I do understand your mentality, though. Some people attribute luck to superstition, which would be incorrect.)
