I honestly didn't use companions in Fallout 3 because of the fear of them dying whereas in New Vegas they couldn't die so I was more than happy to have a couple companions.

I only used RL-3 in FO3, that thing was virtually indestructible!

In Fallout 3 I always attempted to keep Dogmeat ( I think that was his name)alive for as long as I could just because I liked having him around.

In New Vegas I always keep 2 companions around mainly because I just use them as pack mules so I can rack up caps.

Out of curiosity, how many people used Veronica over Boone? Or even any companion over Boone? I mean, yeah, Boone is 'overpowered' but he has no personality whatsoever. For that reason, I never use him now, I'd rather have Veronica or Raul. You know, someone who's nice to talk to.

Yeah I prefer the other companions mainly because they have some sort of interesting backstory and often come out with witty comments about locations and or characters, with Boone it's like a sadistic murmur about the Legion every time.

Also Rex or Eddie?

I like Eddie for the extra perception personally.

And what gun did you give your human companion?

Rumors Fallout 4 is set in the Commonwealth aka where the people you meet in Rivet City looking for the android are from in Fallout 3.

au.ign.com/articles/2012/08/20/will-fall...4-be-set-in-boston-2

(Don't hate cause I read IGN)

I've always had a nudging suspicion as well as a desire for Fallout 4 to be set here, I think the coolest things about post-apoc. games is the societies that re-build themselves and from what I gather about the Commonwealth is it's fairly developed compared to say The Capital Wasteland.

Any thoughts?

I hope a new engine is used. New Vegas has disappointed me and I'm playing it really late into it's release (currently playing it now) and the random glitches are really frustrating to deal with.

I am however excited for a new Fallout title. But I want brand new everything. New engine, sound, EVERYTHING new.

Funny I'd rather everything stay the same, except the glitches, I want the guns, the characters everything to look the same, otherwise it would not be Fallout :z

I'm going to assume it will be pretty much the same engine used in Skyrim with minor approvements, similiar to Oblivion [EDIT] and Fallout 3.

The glory with playing Fallout on PC besides the abundance of game enhancing mods is if a glitch does completely fuck your world upside down you can usually fix it with console commands. For example in Mothership DLC for FO3 the little Girl randomly disappeared, so I used console commands to teleport her to me.

I'd love for it to mostly stay the same, but I think load screens need to be cut down really heavily. The glitches are just part of gaming. If you take out these glitches, there will just be new ones.

Fallout > Elder scrolls.

This is great news. Hopefully these rumours are true because the Commonwealth is a big part of Fallout lore.

As for the conversation of 'should it stay the same?' my answer is mostly. I want the game to have the same feel as previous games but using the Skyrim engine, or something similar, Fallout 3/New Vegas are both great games but both had the same engine as Oblivion, I think, and we know how old that is. Since Fallout 4 is being developed by Bethesda, I'm going to guess that using the Skyrim engine is possible. As for glitches, you're going to be playing a huge, random open world game. Glitches are an inevitability. I also want it to be more 'Fallout-y' Fallout 3 was a great game but for the most part it didn't feel like a Fallout game. New Vegas was extremely close to Fallout lore with many references to things that have happened in the Fallout universe. This is what I want Fallout 4 to be like.

I think there's been a thread on this ages ago but what is your Fallout 4 wishlist?

Woops Oblivion not Morrowind, ma bad.

What do I want?

Weapons: Mo-fackin weapons weapons weapons. I love trying to find all the unique weapons etc, good stuff.

Vehicles: Hear me out on this, I don't want to be able to drive around the wasteland as I think this would be very hard to implement correctly. What I don't understand is how there are functional verti-birds, power armour, a big ass robot, Gun Runner factories which manufacture high quality weapons but people are still hauling goods with mutated cattle?

THat's all I can think of at the moment.

- More Guns, ammunition types, and more of an emphasis on creating ammo, in NV I though that you just got too much ammunition.

- Randomness, you could tell where everything was every time, I want where enemies spawn to mixed up.

- New Factions. Simple easy.
