I don't know if many of you have come up with callouts for the map yet, or if any of you actually use callouts much.
But here's what I've come up with. Love to hear any other callouts you guys have, different names for places, etc. I plan to be coming out with one a week from now until completion. ...Hopefully.
If you have interest in getting involved, giving me feedback on the images, before I update to youtube, read the description of the Kharg Island video. I always upload the images to photobucket, annouce through my twitter or facebook that they're up, then give it a week to get feedback on how to improve, then update the images and release on youtube.
If you'd rather see the images than watch the whole video, here's a link to my photobucket.
Hope it helps everyone!
P.S. If you would like, I could link the videos, rather than embed to decrease thread load time? Just leave a comment or PM me if you think it'd be better than way.
Operation Firestorm
Noshahr Canals
Caspian Border
Operation Metro
Kharg Island
Tehran Highway

really in-depth video, nice job.
i think it be good if u showed all the area callouts with some gameplay and also have you and some friends actually use the callouts to show that they work effectivly.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It`s just that yours is stupid.

I really appreciate the comments, thanks!
So how could I fit the gameplay in the video? I mean it was already 13 mins long..? But I guess from here on out, I'd skip the first 5 mins of explaining how to use/make callouts. Just like a clip of me running by them? I plan on using private matches to give like a walking tour with labels.
And great idea for a gameplay of my friends and I using the callouts in game, showing they work, already had that in mind
Maybe to make it a bit more fun I could recruit a group of my subscribers and show it off like that.

Excellent callouts video. It seems that Operation Metro map is little bit unbalance to me & have a love/hate thing for it.
Well I assume in TDM, SDM, Conquest, and SR the map will playout differently. We'll have to wait and see I guess. I don't mind it too much. Playing alone in any BF game usually feels unbalanced to me. But with a full squad, you can usually turn the tide without too much stress.

making up callouts on caspian border is gonna be fun to watch, that map is truly HUGE.
And it's not the biggest.
Haha, you know, the huge maps aren't all that bad. Like I said, I did every map for BC2. Just for my friends and I, never posted them. Maybe I should? I'm guessing the game is pretty dead now though.
Anyway, the worst, is maps like White pass or something. TONS of houses! I mean, it's pretty hard to distinguish between multiple two story houses all side by side! You'd all laugh if your heard what we had. We could barely ever keep them straight!

Lol, so your saying no need to talk to your team at all, can just spot everyone?
What if they flank your team, come up behind you and knife you. Don't think it may be nice to tell your team where they are? I think I spot more than most people, and my callouts are DEF not for everyone, but I think your thinking way to simply. But maybe you're one of those, "behind you" kind of guys?
In the long run, I'm just glad you know how to spot, because not many people in the beta did, haha.

From my experience in BFBC2 not many people spot at all, I wish Dice would put something in the game to let people know how to spot because I know I wasn't aware of the feature when I started. At least I hope its ignorance that people aren't spotting, would piss me off if all these snipers around the place know how to spot but don't coz they don't want someone else getting the kill even if they aren't going to get it.
As is I run around the place with a pump action w/ buckshot and still spot more than the rest of my squad combined (when playing with randoms) if they're even spotting at all.
As for call outs they are definitely handy, sometimes you can't spot people even though you know they are there and call outs are definitely useful when in the kill cam screen as you can see their health, location / where they are going and other members of their team in the area as well.

Yes, a tutorial in general would be really nice, as this is kind of a lot going on for someone completely new to the game.
And when thinking about BF3, the spots can go away so quickly, that callouts help there too.

Was it just me or was the spotting function in the Beta really bad?
Meaning, wouldn't spot who you wanted, or what? I didn't think it was worse than BC2, but it's different. In BF3 it goes away once they are out of eye sight. I think it's sort of stupid, but I mean, it's not a huge deal. Also, you hear the beep beep beep when you "overheat" your spotting. Meaning, you can't just spam the spot button.

I mean it wouldn't show up for me at all. I would press Q as it was supposed to be on PC but no arrows showed up over who I spotted. Sometimes I might hear someone being called out but never saw arrows in my first person view. They showed up on the map if they were close though.
It`s time to kick ass and chew bubblegum...and my foot hurts at the moment

Agreed it was really hit or miss for me. Sometimes i would be trying to spotsomeone running across the street and it should have been an easy spot but it wouldnt show up at all.
Spotting was near flawless for me once you get used to the spot indicators themselves not being as visible and not being able to spot someone/see a spot if you don't have clear line of sight to them.
Next callout video is done, and more coming every week.
Check them out in the first post.
Hope you all like.

Tehran highway callouts now complete. I think it's the best presentation of them yet. But check out the video in the original post, or just check out the photobucket linked in post one as well.
