I like Reach better than Halo 3, and for that matter I don't understand the controversy surrounding it... cause both games are excellent, and none of Reach's flaws are critical enough for a person to be justified in putting it down as a bad game. Anyway, I enjoy the DMR more than the BR, mainly because I kill with it a lot faster and I enjoy the single shot, which allows me to count my shots much better, contrary to the BR, which is more frenetic. Also, I enjoy the beefed up pistol, which gives you a fighting chance off spawn in normal slayer types, and it is a good throwback to Halo: CE as well. I enjoy playing MLG and Arena gametypes, but I also enjoy casual playlists. Invasion is a great addition to the franchise and is a good way to warm up before a play session or to cool down after one. Grifball is awesome in Reach as well, and is definitely my favorite casual gametype. My opinion on bloom is... adapt. I know that it is random, but complaints about spamming are false, and on-target pacing is always going to create more success than spamming, which is only more successful in the most extreme of situations. Armor Lock sucks, but I still use it at times, and I do not think that anyone should be put down for using it. My only problems with Armor Lock are that two uses is too much, and frosting is cheap bullshit. What I like more about H3 is the lack of sprint, as well as the faster move speed. I find that sprint in Reach most often gets me killed rather than puts me in a better position, seeing as any decent player can soundwhore the shit out of your player's gasping sounds. In terms of maps, H3 takes the cake, but I do enjoy many of Reach's maps, such as Countdown, Boardwalk, Hemorrhage, Zealot (w/ or w/o low G), and I enjoy the occasional objective gametype on Swordbase. Anyway that's my opinion on the matter. I love both, but I love Reach more.
