Over the years I've watched the snowball accumulate after the avalanche.

It is said that COD4 is the best game that came out from the franchise. This is because there was no community. A community was built in the game and the enjoyment was brought without complaints, just sheer enjoyment of doing well and speaking to others. A friendly competition.

After MW2 boom, commentators sky rocketed in YouTube for the thirst of knowledge and improvement in the game's multiplayer. This is where others, including myself, learned tactics others might have not known and made everyone much more competitive. This also brought forth the idea of being a "sore-loser." Unfairness and the broken game mechanics were exposed and others were effected by it. We complained, spoke to others online, and made this a public announcement for others to see. Yet we kept going, awaiting the new arrival of the series to be our Messiah from the ruins.

This is where everything came down with a roaring thunder. The Call Of Duty series shall never be a pure child it has once was for our self pleasure, rather it's broken down and bastardized by those who considerably acts on it for improvement when all it does is wants to make you happy. Indeed, happiness has evolved into wealth for the game, but to us it gives us more of a reason to hate this child that we raised.

Black Ops 2 will come out, hoping to end out "anger" with MW3. I assure you that it will not but we will attempt to dip our feet and see for ourselves.

I long await for purity, once more.

For the sake of relaxed commentary, for those to communicate with each other without hatred and masochism over a foolish game and to enjoy themselves.

I don't personally think that Black Ops 2 will 'fail'. The only way that it could possibly fail is if they innovate with the Multiplayer too much. Mind you, this could even be a positive . . . I think the Zombies mode is going to get even more complex and detailed than in the original Black Ops. Also the Campaign sounds like it's going to take a 'Heavy Rain' approach, all your actions can determine the outcome of the overall story. For once this actually makes me want the play the Campaign of a Call Of Duty game.

By the way, I'm not sure if the "No fanboy's please" part in the implies that positive opinions about Black Ops 2 aren't welcome.

So your opinion is that because previous versions had flaws everyone that has yet to come will be flawed and "fail"?

Judging by the amount of CoD sold even those "failures" are actually quite a success.

The last time this series made a major change, it was a very good one, that being moving cod to modern times with cod 4.
By moving it into a very futuristic setting, they may be able to revitalise the series more, and make another big change that moves the series forward.
either that or they'll make black ops with ewoks and it'll fail.

Actually you think you're right but not completely. I think CoD is the biggest most overrated piece of crap going, just because people bum it. I liked Modern Warfare. World at war was ok. After that.... crap. I borrowed Modern Warfare 2 from a mate, hated it, and never played CoD again... the sad reality is, they won't stop. They've drained WWII so they did something different with Modern day war. Now they ruined that, they moved onto another war (the cold war) and ruined that. So there's only one more direction to go... the future. What are they going to do after they've destroyed that genre as well? Space Warefare? Aliens? God knows.... They've already done zombies and the moon. The thing is, there's other games out there worth playing a lot more that CoD. Games that have actually had a fragment of thought put into them. I will be buying those. So no, people that rant about it don't usually buy it. You just wish they did.

Going back to SC2, LoL, Tekken, or CS

So long as they keep to the basic formula that it's has, CoD will never fail. And I think Activision knows this. The ease of play for all ages; 40yr olds to 8yr old squeakers. Just enough of a learning curve to make you feel accomplished. Quickly earned and tangible rewards. The immediate gratification for the casual gamer and more advanced tactics for the advanced gamers. All of that adds up to one of the most enjoyable and playable franchises of all time. There may be cosmetics tweaks and a bit of innovation to keep it fresh, but you'll notice that they never screw with the core principles.

Other games like this:

-Final Fantasy
-Counterstrike
-Streetfighter

So long as they stick to this, CoD will be successful.
