What other games were you thinking that have had more?
Impact?
Well let's see:
Half Life (Set the standard for single player games)
Counter Strike (Set the standard for competitive FPS)
Age of Empires (The go-to for RTS)
World of Warcraft (Popularised pay-per-play gaming)
Starcraft (Benchmark for RTS)
Diablo (Solidified the top down adventure market)
Mario (One of the most iconic games, a standard of every generation)
Zelda (See above)
Doom (One of gaming's early starters. Paved the way for others.)
Quake (Another game-changer, introduced one of the most important engines ever)
Unreal Tournament (See above)
StarFox (One of the earliest 3D games)
Mortal Kombat (One of the first beat-em-ups. Pushed the idea of character individuality.)
Street Fighter (See above)
Battlefield (Set the groundwork for competitive PC FPS, like CS)
Wii Fit (Founded casual gaming in the public eye)
DotA (Popularised the MOBA genre)
Crysis (Set the standard for next gen visuals)
This is a very small collection of the games which have had a larger IMPACT than CoD. You are not arguing impact, like I said, you're arguing popularity. Do not mention impact if you want this thread to stay at all on topic.
